I have always suffered from anxiety, so much so that it has prevented me from doing the things I want to do. One such thing is nursing. I have my degree and tried working as a nurse for four months, but my anxiety about whether I was good enough to work with people got the better of me. This is a constant thought while working. It is in the present, not the future. Can you help me with a tool to stop being anxious all of the time.

I'm definitely going to try the phone meditation tip, although it's nearly always bad/stressful news in my job, but at least i'll be able to face it a little more calmly!

I have found that when I am super busy that taking a few moments before answering the phone can be all that it takes to have a great response from the person on the other end of the phone.

However a hurried answer will generally cause whatever I am feeling prior to the conversation to bleed over into the new conversation.

Arnie,

Thanks for making contact. Your book looks interesting and wonderful reviews on it. I'd be interested in giving it a read. Metaphor is so powerful with this practice.

Best wishes,

David

Well said. Another thing that is important is self-forgiveness. Holding on to resentment is like taking poison and hoping the other person will die. We must always forgive, when we don't, we can deeply hurt ourselves.
